Federal officials have approved a study that will allow public hearings to begin on the long-promised Hudson-Bergen Light Rail project in Bergen County. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) approved the Supplementary Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) to extend light rail tracks from North Bergen to Englewood Hospital. The 60-day public hearing and comment period will begin once NJ Transit publishes the document in the federal register and issues notice that it was published.
