Helping Achieve Balance Between Infrastructure Needs and Protecting Community Interests and Resources

InGroup seeks harmony between 21st-century infrastructure needs and the environment.  We are experts in the process for public agencies to comply with complex state and federal environmental requirements, as they develop projects to increase critically needed expansion of transportation capacities.

These efforts require deft community outreach strategies that provide elected officials and residents with factual information about a project’s needs and benefits, while outlining the potential local impacts and what will be done to minimize disruptions to quality of life and damage to precious resources.

InGroup has deep experience helping state and local agencies implement public communication requirements and public meetings necessary to meet their environmental obligations, including scoping meetings and public hearings.  We have done this for some of the major agencies in the region on varied projects, including the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), NJ Transit and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), NJ TRANSIT, Empire State Development (ESD), and many other local regional agencies.

We have the expertise for:

  • Overseeing preparation for public meetings to inform and engage the public on critical projects in their communities
  • Developing websites and materials, such as brochures and fact sheets, to provide the public with the information they need to be part of the process
  • Maintaining comprehensive checklists to ensure required guidelines are fully met and establishing repositories to make project materials available for public review
  • Marketing and project branding; public relations; and digital communications
